Many of the islands and much of the shoreline is owned. Especially the southern Bay, Manitoulin Island, and throughout the 30 000 islands. It is not ok to camp on private land without permission.

Clues land is privately owned:
• buildings visible on land or marked on map
• red dots or other signs on trees / rocks
• local MNR office / Crown Land map / marina says so
